Lighting a garden rather than lighting it up

The things that make the difference are usually about aim and control, not fitting count:

• Uplighting on trees and planting rather than flat floodlighting
• Low-level path and step lighting where you actually need to see your feet
• Separate switching or zones, so you're not lighting the whole garden at once
• Timers, dusk-to-dawn sensors or app control where it suits how you use the space
• Warm colour temperatures outside - cold white makes planting look dead

Built to survive a British winter

Outdoor fittings live in water, frost and UV, and cheap ones fail within a couple of seasons - usually by filling with water. We fit accessories and enclosures with a sensible ingress rating for where they're actually going, take cable underground where it belongs, and make connections in enclosures designed for it.

Where a scheme is being installed alongside landscaping, it's much cheaper to get the cabling in before the paving and turf go down. If you have a landscaper booked, talk to us early.

Being a good neighbour

Badly aimed exterior lighting spills into other people's windows and can become a genuine nuisance complaint. Aiming fittings down and shielding them is better lighting anyway - it puts light where you want it and keeps glare out of your own eyes as well as everyone else's.
